জন্ম ১৯৬৭ -তে, কলকাতায়। প্রথম কবিতার বই ‘অনিন্দিতা বাসস্টপ’ প্রকাশ পায় ১৯৯৪ সালে। পরে ক্রমশ প্রকাশিত হয়েছে আরো আটটি মৌলিক কবিতার বই, একটি গদ্যগ্রন্থ ও একটি গল্পসংকলন। বিশ্বসাহিত্যের অনুবাদগ্রন্থ রয়েছে ছয়টি। সম্পাদনা করেছেন অমল চন্দের গল্পসংগ্রহ। সুদীপ ‘আন্তর্জাতিক সম্পর্ক’ বিষয়ে স্নাতকোত্তর।

মা বলত, ‘তোকে যোগিন্দর সিং-এর কাছে রেখে আসব।
তুই রান্না করবি ওঁর জন্য।
রাতের বিছানা পাতবি।
রাস্তার কল থেকে বালতি বালতি টেনে আনবি
ওঁর স্নান করবার জল।’

স্টোররুমে, ভারি অন্ধকারে,
আমি লুকিয়ে লুকিয়ে কাঁদতাম।

মা বলত, ‘ওঁকে কখনো দেখা যায় না
উনি আড়াল থেকে শাস্তি দেন।’

মা চলে গেল।
যোগিন্দর সিং বেঁচে রইলেন।

তখন সবেমাত্র বিয়ে হয়েছে আমার
একমাসও যায়নি
যোগিন্দর সিং নিজে এসে নিজের হাতে
দুম করে ভেঙে দিয়ে গেলেন।
