কলকাতা: চলে গেলেন বুদ্ধদেব দাশগুপ্ত (Buddhadeb Dasgupta)। বৃহস্পতিবার ভোরে দক্ষিণ কলকাতায় নিজের বাড়িতেই মারা যান তিনি। তাঁর মৃত্যুর সঙ্গেই শেষ হয়ে গেল একটা অধ্যায়। বয়স হয়েছিল ৭৭ বছর। সংস্কৃতি জগতে শোকের ছায়া।

‘দূরত্ব’, ‘নিম অন্নপূর্ণা’, ‘গৃহযুদ্ধ’, ‘ফেরা’, ‘বাঘ বাহাদুর’, ‘উত্তরা’, ‘তাহাদের কথা’, ‘চরাচর’ সহ বহু ছবির পরিচালক তিনি। কয়েক বছর ধরে অসুস্থ ছিলেন। ডায়ালিসিস চলছিল তাঁর। বৃহস্পতিবার তাঁর মৃত্যুর খবর জানিয়েছেন স্ত্রী।

১৯৪৪ সালে পুরুলিয়ার জন্ম। ১২ বছর বয়সে কলকাতায় আসেন। বর্ধমানের শ্যামসুন্দর কলেজে অধ্যাপনা করেছেন। দে’জ পাবলিকেশন থেকে প্রকাশিত হয়েছে শ্রেষ্ঠ কবিতা। তাঁর প্রয়াণে পরিচালক তরুণ মজুমদার সহ আরও অনেকে গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করেন।
